Kelly M. Leahy Kamm is a professor of instruction in the Department of Finance and director of the Financial Education and Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. Kamm also serves as associate director of the AIM Investment Center and vice president of the Texas McCombs Investment Advisors, a fund where selected MBA students manage millions in assets invested in equity and fixed income.
An award-winning teacher, Kamm teaches at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels. Her courses cover corporate finance, investments and portfolio management, financial statement analysis, and security analysis. She also conducts training seminars on using financial data sets such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and Capital IQ for research, data export, and valuation. In her teaching, Kamm specializes in supporting the theory with hands-on practice via business simulations and data analysis.
She also invests in private companies, GKSD Restaurant Enterprises LLC and Salt Traders Enterprises, which generate approximately $50 million in sales. She consults in the areas of private company valuation, financial services, and portfolio simulation software.
A sought-after speaker on global finance issues, Kamm has lectured in Prague, Milan, Madrid, Monterrey, and Chihuahua.
She earned a Ph.D. in finance from Texas McCombs, with a focus on capital markets, international finance, and monetary theory and policy. She also graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor's in economics and a certificate in Latin American studies.
