Energy Realities: Best of "All of the Above"
In September of 2023, we explored how recent geopolitical and economic developments have fortified the view that an “all of the above” energy approach most aligns with energy and economic “realities.” We discussed the range of current and future energy sources in the “all of the above” approach, including the expansion of alternative energy sources such as solar, wind, hydrogen, and nuclear, in addition to continued, historic increases in, and the decarbonization of, American-produced hydrocarbons-oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas.
Collectively, these energy sources will continue to improve domestic and international economic well-being and national security.

PAST ENERGY SYMPOSIUMS
2023 Symposium - Energy Realities: Best of "All of the Above"
On September of 2023, we explored how recent geopolitical and economic developments have fortified the view that an “all of the above” energy approach most aligns with energy and economic “realities.” We discussed the range of current and future energy sources in the “all of the above” approach, including the expansion of alternative energy sources such as solar, wind, hydrogen, and nuclear, in addition to continued, historic increases in, and the decarbonization of, American-produced hydrocarbons-oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas. Collectively, these energy sources will continue to improve domestic and international economic well-being and national security.
2022 Symposium - Reshaping the Energy Evolution
Energy is at a critical juncture as the globe faces a war in Europe, supply chain dysfunctions, the highest inflation in 40 years, underinvestment in traditional energy, and a sharp focus on grid reliability.
2021 Symposium - The Energy Transition – Rhetoric or Reality?
A four-day black out, ongoing fallouts from the pandemic, disputes surrounding post-election policy, and socio-economic upheaval all influence public opinion. Investors in energy are making key decisions regarding capital allocation based on ESG as well as financial assumptions. The choices to be made and the trade-offs they entail are far less clear than the different energy mix proponents suggest. We will explore existing and emerging business models as we consider technology, policy, and economic trade-offs for our collective energy future.
2020 Symposium - Energy 2020: Elephants and Black Swans in the Room
Policy and technology have long been used to change the viability of various energy solutions. Today, though, the response to a pandemic, uncertainty surrounding post-election sentiment, socio-economic upheaval, and supply /demand imbalance are vastly complicating the analysis. We will explore both the black swans facing energy, as well as the obvious elephants in the room, as we consider technology, policy, and economic trade-offs for our collective energy future.
2019 Symposium - Energy 2039: Limiting Factors and Likely Outcomes
The energy mix of the future and the above ground risks that shape it.
